The monastery represents one of the most beautifull monasteries in Bulgaria. It is an amazing place with a great atmosphere. Entry is for free,you have to pay only for parking (2BGN/day).

Probably 15 kilometers from Troyan. Excellent opportunity to see and understand Bulgarian renaisence religious and cultural life. You can sleep there too. Local handcrafts are available at the open air market outside the monastery.

The monastery is great at summer and also at winter time. We had a lunch in Troyan than we went to the monastery

After visiting Rila and Bachkovo, we weren't sure of visiting yet another monastery, but decided to have a look at Troyan monastery as we had stopped in Troyan en route to Koprivshtitsa from Veliko Tarnovo. We are happy we visited, as it's an impressive site....More

This is the third largest monastery in Bulgaria, officially called "Monastery of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God". A lot of renovation work has been done and is ongoing here. Compared to the other two large monasteries it is lovely quiet here...More

A big monastery with many photo points. Visit the room where Vasil Levski hid. And remember to be wearing comfortable shoes, high heels are not the best option - there are cobble stones and a few narrow steps...

excellent afternoon visit this is one of the larger Monasteries in the area, and is very interesting, on many levels, historically & not just for Christians, the town of Troyan is also a "Must see" visit
