Besides its beauty, outside and especially inside, it tells us a bit of Brasil's moments 100 years ago. I recommend the guide tour to have a flavor of it.

The theater is really beautiful. It has been recently restored, we had a guided visit and is free. Getting there at night is a bit of a challenge. The area surrounding the theater is dark..

An amazing piece of old São Paulo! Definitely worth seeing, especially the interior - it's fabulous! It's a great spot for taking beautiful pictures, too. But you have to be there early, otherwise it's too crowded. Must see!

The theater is truly beautiful. It has been recently restored, so it sparks with details of gold and marble and rich red velvet. We went to see a dance performance with live music, but what we wanted was to see the theater, one of our...More

We had a wonderful and different evening at this oasis in Sao Paulo. We saw a classical violin performance at this historic venue, It was incredibly inexpensive and is apparently heavily subsidized. Getting there at night is a bit of a challenge. We took a...More

This gem theater is located in the Ild Downtown area and while yes, there is a sizable homeless population hanging out nearby, I don't believe you have anything to fear if you want to visit this for a performance or just a look into the...More

The Theatro Municipal de São Paulo is one of the most beautiful places in the whole city. You must see a concert or visit the place. Just watch out, because the area (downtonwn) where it takes places it's a little bit dangerous.

The building stands out, as it has classical form surrounded by concrete beasts. It has some stain glass windows that bring the building to life. Nice for a quick look if you're in the area. I wouldn't really say that this area is particularly dangerous...More

Old part of Sao Paulo. Must visit. Go in a group. Go in the 1st part of the day. The people around do not inspire confidence. However lovely to see. It's a 100% to go to place. Bhagwan

My husband and I will be coming off a cruise ship in jan and would like to visit this opera house. Also we were wondering if there would be a possibility that if you or someone could give us a private tour to see musicians practicing somewhere where we could see them. Or at the university, string or woodwinds practicing. Or an organist in a church. Or any recital. We have all day.I think I read there was some music being played over the noon hour somewhere downtown I think. Hope to hear from you, thanks, Elaine Schmidt, Greeley Colorado. usa
