I visited the museum on November 4th in the morning. The reception staff were very kind. The two interior employees had the opposite procedure. They had their cell phones on, playing horrible "music", loud enough to disturb visitors. One of them, knowing that I would complain about him, showed hostility towards me, treating me with an air of defiance. In both cases, they are "professionals" working in the wrong place. A SACRED ART museum should better select the people it hires. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Great option, probably one of the best museums of its kind. Small but comprehensive collection, located on a specially beautiful and historical building. The nativity scenes are specially interesting, especially the one located on the annex.

This a good option to those with few time to expend in São Paulo Central area. If you like baroque, catholic art, is a must go.

The visit was great. All the displays amazing and full of history. Found the place great for families and worth the entrance fee.

The collection here is quite small and you can thoroughly check out everything in an hour or less. Many of the pieces are very unusual and very interesting. For example, there is a graphic, gory statue of Christ on the cross , a sizeable collection of silver artifacts including a big staff and a crown plus some very well exucuted paintings in a sort of naive/ folk style. When viewing these pieces it very quickly becomes apparent that they are not just art for art's sake; they are at least partly meant to bring stories from the bible alive and to inspire people , and , whether or not you are religious , they are undeniably very well designed for this purpose. In a way, this museum , its contents and its grounds , are a sort of lesson in the history of Sao Paulo and Brazil.A peaceful oasis in the megalopolis.

The Museum stores beautiful statues, altarpieces etc from all around Brazil. The museum is housed in a colonial building that makes the visit more special. It is nearby the Mercado Municipal and the Pinacoteca, so you can visit the 3 places in one day.

I enjoyed the museum as it had a variety of relics of churches from Brazil. It has the second largest collection of sacred oil lamp chandeliers in the world, second to the Vatican. Some of the religious artifacts are absolutely beautiful. Many times, some of the statues you see in churches are high and quite a distance. Here, you can be face to face with some of these religious statues and see much more detail.
They allow you to take pictures, but only without a flash. Entry fee is R$ 6,00 (USD $2.00). Takes less than an hour to see everything. The building itself is very old, and I am always fascinated with old architecture and building materials.

I would barely call this a museum, it's more a collection of random objects from some churches, and I was kind of surprised because it was recommended in a guide book. If you are really bored and have time to spare, go, but otherwise it's definitely not something you will miss out on. It was also strange because the guy told me the main attraction there would be open at 2pm, why isn't it open during the museum hours? I wasn't going back for that.

A resposta relacionada ao preço do ingresso já foi postada por outros avaliadores. Gostaria de acrescentar que o MAS está localizado a poucos metros da estação Tiradentes do metrô e que tem estacionamento gratuito de terça a sexta-feira.
