The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

Ibirapuera Park is the largest and most visited park in Sao Paulo, for good and bad. As parks go, it is very good, featuring lots and lots of elements: a large lake with swans and fishes, a Japanese garden, a Planetarium, several museums and exhibition pavillions, sports facilities, cooper tracks, etc., including a whole theater/concert hall. Many events take place... More

Ibirapuera is a safe, clean and beautiful park. Suitable for people of all ages and pet friendly. Great bike lane but too crowded on weekends, although still enjoyable. Having some chilled Agua de Coco (coconut water) is a must!
