The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

This was the first trip I made to Sao Paulo and after spending time walking around the city, it was a change of scenery once I entered Ibirapuera Park. There were many joggers, cyclists, and families going about their business and as not many tourists...More

The Ibirapuera Park is by far the most famous and central park of São Paulo. It has many running tracks, a big lake, two museums, one auditorium and a great Japanese garden worth the visit.

I prefer going there on weekdays because on weekends sometimes it gets very crowded. The Japanese garden is a must!

This is one of the best parks I have ever been to. With amazing tall tress, a trek tail that runs 6K along the park's fence, it includes a jog in Manequinho Lopes's nursery, a little wild gem in São Paulo. It opens at 5...More
