The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

Nice place for run, bike or walk around. It's possible to buy healthy refreshments (water, sugar cane juice or coconut water) or cooked corn in the park. Once in a while you can have the chance to experience free music concerts or art performance. People are very friendly, good opportunity to make new friends.

Ibirapuera, or "Ibira" if you're intimate, is not only São Paulo's top attraction (#1 in TripAdvisor) but a serious contender for the best urban park in the world. A true urban oasis designed in 1954 by Brazil most iconic landscape architect, Roberto Burle Marx, Ibirapuera is curvilinear in every direction. Take a walk by the trail that runs near the... More

Huge park, good for a picnic or exercising (running, biking etc). It houses some museums like the MAM (Modern Art Museum) and the Oca (which shows only temporary collections and not all the time) and interesting pavillions (I particularly enjoy to watch the carp pond of the japanese pavillion from the 2nd floor). Be careful, though, not to get yourself... More

Really loved this park despite the rain. Hired bikes at the entrance, very easily and not too expensive. There was a visible presence of security so felt safe. Lots of others in the park excercise get and walking but plenty of space for all. Definitely recommended

The park is huge, it reminds me the Central Park in New York. Loads of green and a lake, birds. Very popular among the locals. Good place for hanging out with friends, family trips, outdoor sports or relaxing walks after busy day in work. It's a cultural place, there is a lot going on during the Carnaval, but not only....
