My 7 y.o. daughter loves the place. You can see snakes inside their cages as well as some other animals. There is a lot of outdoor space and people go there to ride a bike, play ball or even having a picnic. It is very...More

Extremely interesting place to observe snakes from a short distance. I have been taken my pictures with a reflex, a macro lens and a flash as snakes are in obscurity. I could take all my time to observe them. Also to be visited in the...More

It is like a big park with security guards, very nice environment. Pet friendly in the outdoor area, where you can also picnic. There are various attractions mainly related to snakes. There is also a fast food spot and some food trucks.

Exotic and deadly snakes from all over the world, on display safely in a world renowned facility. Kids will squeal. I loved the open rattle snake pit at the entrance.

The campus is beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed walking around the park-like grounds. But lets be honest, if you're coming here, you're coming to see the snakes. Which are super cool. They have tons of specimens displayed in unique ways (e.g. the coral vs false...More

This is something of a hidden gem in São Paulo. There are some nice touches and it's good that many of the displays are in English and well written. The array of snakes, spiders, etc. native to Brazil is also impressive. The disappointment was that...More

Butanta
Butantã is home to the main campus of São Paulo’s
University, and this neighbourhood has a very
different feel from the rest of the city. Within a
huge green space, covering around eight million square
meters, you can feel the fresh air while mingling with
recreational athletes exercising along the streets of
the university complex. Outside the university, there
is a more residential area where you can see children
