This is beautiful monument to the Revolution of 1932. The Shrine below to the soldiers and citizens lost is worth a visit.

Obelisk of São Paulo is a 72 meters tall monument in Ibirapuera Park in the great city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Park houses many historic and cultural monuments. The Obelisk was inaugurated in 1955, one year after the opening of Ibirapuera Park. It is made of pure marble and surrounded by four panels carrying images from Biblical passages and scenes of São Paulo's history. Obelisk of São Paulo is a symbol of the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932, and the final resting place for more than 700 combatants.

I was surprised by the nice sanctuary below the obelisk which was free entrance. The obelisk itself is cool, but there's no real added value to go closer as you can't mount it. It's next to the Ibirapuera park on a busy cross roads.

This monument is a symbol of the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932, and the biggest monument of the city of São Paulo. The height of the monument is 72 meters (236 ft 3 in). The construction of the monument was started in 1947 and completed in 1970.

The obelisk is a project of the Italo-Brazilian sculptor Galileo Ugo Emendabili, who arrived at Brazil in 1923. The obelisk, made with pure travertine marble, was inaugurated on July 9, 1955, one year after the inauguration of Ibirapuera Park.

This can be seen from anywhere near or within the park. Clean architecture but not worth a particular visit. Spend your time in the park and view from a distance

The obelisk is so high and it can been seen from the park. It is a symbol for Brazil but as a sculpture is not something special. Visit it only if you want to take some pictures of it.

It is worth having a look at, but I would not suggest making a trip just to see it. Perhaps you might go to it if you are in the park anyway.

Go to the inside and breath the peace.

A homage to the fallen of the constitutionalist Revolution in 1932, is more beautiful from the inside.

Not very special and not worth a visit just for the obelisk. You can see it from the park and that's plenty enough.
