Good, but need external restoration
Mar 2017 • Family
This is considered the first modernist architecture house build in Sao Paulo, from 1928. It is well preserved, have a nice green area around it and its interior keeps the original projects, but the external walls and windows experienced many transformations with the years, so some restoration work must be done to return it to its original configuration. The old pool is abandoned.

increadible relaxing!

This was the first modernist house of Brazil. Beautiful, large, geometric, comfortable. You can listen to its history told by the son of the architect-owner. But the moment you enter the "park" itself you feel you are in a grove, in the middle of this big city! I stayed for hours on a bench, among high trees, seeing birds around, and I could not hear the noisy of the city! This grove, in fact, was the "backyard" of this house. It seems as if I was visiting some rich relative! And people don´t seem to have discovered it, so it was almost empty in a sunday. It´s worthwhile, and I´ll be back many times.

A jewel of modernist architecture
Sep 2011 • Friends
Without any doubt one of the most interesting spots for architecure lovers making it to São Paulo. It dates from 1927-1928 and is probably the first example of modernist architecture in Brazil. It was designed by Gregori Warchavchik.
On purpose, there a hardly any decorations. It's purely functionalism. The garden is rather wild but offers a lot of intimacy, that visitors will also find on the terrace on the second floor. Inside there's a small exhibition about the house and its owners. Recommended and only a small walk away from the Parque do Ibirapuera.
