The area
Neighbourhood:
Sé, which derives its name from Sé Square, is a central neighbourhood in historic São Paulo. Close by, the Law School, the Museum of the Court of Justice and the Metropolitan Cathedral offer inspiring architecture. If you are looking for cultural activities, head to Caixa Cultural and check the schedule. In the area there is a popular pedestrian street called “Rua Direita”, one of the first streets in the region, which today marks the crowded perimeter. Sé is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.

It's worth to visit the Theatre, and this Square is in front of it, no more. You'll see it. Keep hold of your belongings

If you come to SP for tourism, don't miss downtown!!! There are lots of antique constructions with all kinds of brazilian history in it and architectural inspirations from around the world. This square is amazing to meet!!! As all local places from downtown you have to be careful with theafts and, unfortunatelly, you have to watch some people laying around just killing time and letting life pass through them. But, in any case, it's really worth meeting all the big buildings and the old constructions. If you have time, program yourself to go inside the municipal theater, which is way more beautiful than you can imagine from outside. No Opera de Paris, of course, but still beautiful!

This is an old downtown place in Sao Paulo. Great to see old building and its architecture! Please be aware that this is a dangerous place to go. So keep your camera safe, check surroundings and who approaches your. The thieves know hoe to identify who is local who is not.

Designed by Ramos de Azevedo, this square is deteriorated and dirty. The garden need urgent care. The sculptures have lost their history and few people visit this interesting square near to the opera house (Teatro Municipal). Hard to get there, only by bus, taxi or walking. No place to park the car. A big pity for this forgotten garden. The mayor should have the shame to provide a urgent maintance service!
