I have been at Branca bch last weekend and noticed it had much garbage on the trail. Despite the beach belongs to Guararu State Park you will see many things that not fit with it. The river is poluted. Sewage is thrown into the river....More

The only downside of course is the somewhat steep 3.5km walk to the beach - but the destination is worth it. Other than the last walking stretch it's and easy drive from Guaruja. Relatively uncrowded (for Brazil), tucked inside a beautiful bay enclosed in rainforest....More

Even though it's not neat Guaruja, it's definitively a hiddem gem in the island. The trekking to get to the beach (20 mins) and the beach itself are outstanding!
