The Metropolitan Cathedral is easily found. It is a structure of grace and tranquility. It is reserved and free from the garish that is often found in Norther Brazil.

In the center of Natal there is the cathedral with a very modern design and space for hundreds of catholics.

We had no idea the cathedral looked like this, from a distance it looked like a prop from Star Wars. Please don't be offended by this comment because once inside the true scale of this iconic building presents itself.
75 metres high x 94 metres wide holding some 22,000 people give you and idea of the scale.
The four stain glass windows running up to the cross in the roof make it a truly spectacular building.
Don't miss it.

With its decidedly modern construction, and conical shape, the Metropolitan Cathedral is not your typical church experience (note that I was visiting as a tourist, not a Christian). And the inside is just so cool, with the stain-glass windows and cross of light. You'll only need to stop in for a few minutes to take this sight in (unless you just need a break from the heat, as I did), but it's not to be missed if architecture interests you at all.

Ao que parece uma fotografia modifica a avaliação. Eu avalei a Catedral Metropolitana, assim como o Luís F. Como a fotografia posta foi da Igreja da Apresentação, a antiga catedral a confusão foi estabelecida pelo Sr. que a localizou na Floriano Peixoto, quando na realidade ela fica na Av. Deodoro. Feitas as correções. Todos os turistas são aprendizes.

Gostaria de fazer uma ressalva a fotografia não é da Catedral Metropolitana, mas da Igreja da Apresentação - a catedral mais antiga que vale a pena conhecer. Não fui eu que postei.
