The area
Neighbourhood: Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

Celebrate Bossa Nova on Copacabana beach.

Dorival Caymmi's music popularised the identity of Brazilian music he wrote ballads to samba.

This is one of many statues you can see as you stroll the beach.

Other curiosities of Rio de Janeiro are the statues that we can find walking along Copacabana Beach. On the promenade and a few meters from the sand we see that of a Bahian singer with his guitar. It is made of bronze and shows the figure of the man in life size. Very close is the fort, with the sea in the background, people sunbathing and the landscape of a beautiful city.

You can't miss it if you walk the beach. Nothing special and certainly not worth going out of your way for.

The statue of Dorival Caymmi is set on Avenida Atlantica along the Copacabana beach. Dorival Caymmi was a talented artist - musician, singer, songwriter, painter & actor. He was one of the most influential people behind the rise of Brazils bossa nova movement.
Worth a stop as you walk along Copacabana to take a picture with his statue.
