This hike was the highlight of my trip to Rio! The view from the top is BREATHTAKING, I have never done such a beautiful hike. However, be aware that it's physically difficult. About 3+ hrs up and only slightly less down, steep, and some areas...More

Very good hike not impossible but you have to have somewhat a active life. Hike is about 2 hours before you get to big stone. You'll need equipment to get to the top. Great experience I would suggest if you're healthy and fit you definitely...More

Since I was alone in Rio I arranged with a private guide (Rio Adventures) to do the hike. I was not disappointed: the hike is really awesome! Having said that: do not attempt this hike if you are not an experienced hiker with the proper...More

I struggled to find accurate details about this trail so I'm going to give it a shot here. First of all, it is absolutely magnificent. Any outdoorsy person who visits in Rio should consider hiking this trail at some point, even over the Christ or...More

If you like adventures you should climb up. You can reach to the very top with the help of your feet and your hands in some parts that require a little of climbing but without the need of a rope/harness. Not recommended if you fear...More

Best hiking trip I had in Rio. I did the tour with NatTrip, and I recommend them. It is doable without a tour, just less safe. It would be faster that way though. Also much cheaper without a tour. It's difficult to get to the...More

We hired a guide to take us to the top. It's a challenging hike, with rock climbing too. Had to overcome some fear to get to the top! Can be very scary at points! I wouldn't do it if you're not fairly fit or if...More

The place has an amazing view from bottom to top, it's not the hardest climb, neither the easiest one - but you'll get tired anyway. I've heard a lot of people complainning about being robbed on their way up, and police is never there.

I love this hike. It's long and intense. At least two hours going up at a nice easy pace. If your not comfortable with heights and some level of rock climbing, this might not be a good experience for you. But if you think you...More

Pedra Da Gavea is incredible beautiful as well as difficult hiking route, therefore you should be prepared to pour some sweat. I arrived to the Parque Nacional Da Tijuca by a city bus. It took about 4 hours to get to the top and down...More

I wouldn't count on being able to use a rope that is already there. Most people go up with no rope at all, but if you want to be safe and go with gear, I recommend booking a tour guide to take you up

Pedra da Gavea is a huge mountain that can be seen from many places in Rio. Go to the top of the hill is "a long and wide road" and dangerous. It is for few people... You'll need a tour guide, so if U do that please, select... More
