This is the first hill up on the way to Rio's famous Sugar Loaf. It offers it's own marvelous view from the top (215 meters) but its base is also a good place for hiking.

This is a lovely option: hike up the Morro da Urca, which is the half way station up to Sugarloaf, instead of taking the cable car up. It take just over half an hour through dense forest up a well maintained path with secure steps...More

This is the first mountain you pass to get to Sugarloaf. You can either travel up by cable car (far easier) or there is a trail with you can travel up on foot (maybe next time). Excellent views of Rio and surrounding area.

I walked to the base of the Urca hill from Flamingo park. Times on sign posts seemed accurate, with regard to how long it takes to go from one point to another. It said 40 minutes for walk up the will but that is one...More

Morro da Urca is composed by two hills, one is not so high and closer to the land and the second one is really high and closer to the ocean. You can reach the top of the first hill by car cable or trekking, which...More

Intermediate stop if going up Pao de Acucar (Sogarloaf Mountain) by cable car; alternatively, you can hike up the available trail. Wonderful views of Rio from here with plenty of photo opportunities. Great place for a stop before going further up to the top!

The cable car ride to the top was quick, about 2 minutes tops and if you don't look down you wouldn't know you were on a cable car. The view is worth it

Morro da Urca is one of the most special places in Rio de Janeiro, not only because of the view, but because of the vibe. Pretty often there are concerts, special projects, parties, and other events that you should attend to before going -- look...More

Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born.
With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical
buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living
proof that the old and the new can live together
harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where
all major companies house their offices. However, the
region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like
the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that
