I would say this place was excellent was 5 min walk to the centre, or you could take underground or bus to Copacabana beach. lots of food places and beach was really good. Wasn't as busy as Copacabana but still really good.

It has some really nice parks, and really nice views, but any where you walk smells like pee. Near the beach it is very nice, two blocks back it is not so pretty, it feels like very local. Not many places to go out at...More
I was only there briefly, but enjoyed my visit. Good selection of restaurants. Watch your valuables - the streets didn't feel particularly safe. good for public transport.
