We took an Uber to the base of the hike. We got out at the cones below the trail/road up. We did not know we could have ridden further... And then at the trailhead we saw plenty of parking in which we could have parked...More

I took up here with a quide and got driven up and up past jungle and favelas and the uptown areas. The experience was beautiful, the area and the views and waterfalls and everything is awesome, a very nice way to round up and say...More

Our first experience with Trails ... amazing ... tiresome but worth every bit of trail, every effort to get on top ... is a huge thrill ... indescribable.

Amazing view and a good place to take good pictures. The hike to get there is not very hard, but you need to walk uphill for maybe 15-20 minutes if i remember correct. Definitely worth the walk to see this stunning view.

We had hiked to several lookout views during our stay and I was consequently skeptical, but when we arrived at the top and watched the sunset, I did not regret the climb. Several guides described the hike to the summit as easy or moderate, but...More

I went there to hike but kept watching people jump as they did the paragliding thing. I almost jumped myself but it was a bit expensive, maybe next time.

It's hard to get there by public transportation. but they do have a parking lot (small). Do go on weekends, since its (supposedly) safer. its about 40min walk (easy-regular). you don't need to climb on any rocks like the Pedra da Gavea (hard-super tiring).

Totally overrated but you have to go there when in Rio. Nothing special - just a crowded beach! You can rent bicycles if you fancy a ride on the promenade.

This is a paragliding site, so the view is stunning. One can choose to jump with a professional or just hang around and watch people jump. The hike to access the site is easy, but nowadays no hike in Rio is safe. Try to have...More

Not Petra, but Pedra+Rock Pedra Bonita means Beautiful Rock, the name of one of the magnificent granite formations in this area. Near it ,there a well known hang glider launching pad.
