About
Our tour takes place in Rocinha - the largest favela in Latin America and it lasts about two and a half hour (2h and 30 min). In the late 18th century, the first settlements were called "bairros africanos" (African neighborhoods), and they were the...more

I can't recommend this trip highly enough. The guide was exceptional, full of knowledge and information and he was really really funny. The group is the size of a minibus, so there were about 10 of us of all nationalities but the guy has it...More

If you don’t do the walking tour with Carlos in the Favela then you haven’t really seen Rio. Me and my husband was warned not to go it’s dangerous but no Carlos was so passionate about is home and people and we felt very safer...More

Excellent tour. You get to experience firsthand how some of the residents of Rio live by actually walking through their home (Favela). And very passionate and insightful comments by our tour guide Carlos. I would strongly recommend this tour. .

Excellent guide (Edsel) who knows and lives in the Favela. Felt very safe & welcome. Be prepared for a lot of walking & uneven steps thru narrow ally ways. A portion of the tour price is donated to the community.

Carlos was our guide for this tour and he knows his stuff. I loved the tour a lot more than I thought even though many people advised that it was a bad idea. I felt completely safe the whole time.

Whilst visiting Rio in May we wanted to discover more about the favelas but wanted something that didn’t seem intrusive (like the coach tours), “zoo” like, dangerous or fake. Carlos was our tour guide and was absolutely fantastic and gave us real insight into daily...More

The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional
and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood

traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of
everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs,
chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and
more live side-by-side. There are options for all
price points and tastes. However, the most powerful
