Not to be confused with the Botafogo shopping centre, which is small, the Rio Sul was great for general shopping with a range of shops at all price points. There was also a wide range of food options with restaurants and a fast food hall. Easy to get to by taxi, just at the end of the Copacobana tunnel in Bogafogo.

It is a typical big shopping of a big city. A great tour option to do in the evening hours. It is the closest shopping option for those staying in the central region of Rio de Janeiro.
Lots of shop options. It is a bit difficult to find the central food square, which is quite large. There are other "separate" dining points in addition to the gourmet space, with more sophisticated and expensive restaurants at the top.
After the closing of the shopping we went to the Copacabana fair, another good option for a night tour.

If in need of upmarket shopping in Rio, this place shouldn’t disappoint. It certainly isn’t full of local shops, but you can obviously go elsewhere to find those (and I recommend you do (support local!)). It’s safe and ADA-compliant for wheelchairs. A fair selection of eateries is on site as well, and I recall that the Wifi is free and fast. It’s clean, too, which is important as COVID lingers in the background of our lives. I recommend this mall.

Small passage through the mall thanks to the weather ... There are everything: European, American and Brazilian brands. Awards are as in France for major brands but attractive for local brands. Several bridges of restaurants rather varied, from restaurant to fast food. Taxis and Uber abound at the main entrance

It is a very complete and large commercial center. It has very good restaurants. On this occasion I went to Gula Gula which is located on the fifth floor. A little expensive, but all good. In the mall you find all kinds of stores, although everything at regular prices and a little expensive. It is recommended to go for lunch and spend an afternoon at the mall.

This is one of two shopping malls in Rio, and is easily walkable from Copacabana beach. There are also taxis available from the ground floor and from the 4th level carpark. Shops are generally average, used more by locals than tourists. There are a few nice restaurants and one coffee shop that tends to get quite popular. Reasonable selection of clothing and household goods. Prices reflect its location away from the tourist strip.

My wife and I visited here yesterday. It's a very nice shopping centre with a good variety of shops. Lots of well-known international brands as well as other, probably more localised brands.

It's very clean, has a nice cool temperature, and feels very safe as there are lots of security people.

It's a nice way to spend a couple of hours.

A nice big shopping mall that is easily walkable from Copacabana Beach. You will need to walk through a tunnel.

It has a good selection of stores and a range of food choices. We visited the mall several times to shop and eat.

We did note that it was getting ready for Christmas rather early.

Nice shopping center close to Copacabana (through a tunnel by the rental car area at the northeast (Leme) side of Copacabana).
The shopping center has all kind of stores on 4-5 levels. From exclusive ones to cheaper ones. There are lots og shops for women and men clothes but also stores for kids. In general the shops cover most interests and ages. There is a parking at the top (entrance around the back). There is several areas with a mix of restaurants (from McDonalds to more exspensive ones). There is also a small amusement/games area in one of the top levels.
Alternatives to Rio Sul is e.g. Leblon Shopping which is on the west end (Leblon) of Ipanema beach. Leblon Shopping is newer and more fancy than Rio Sul. I think the size is about similar. Another option is the insanely big Barra Shopping even further to the west out in Barra de Tijuca. You probably need a car or taxi to go there (at least until they make the subway stretch a little longer). Barra Shopping still is or has been known as South Americas biggest shopping mall as far as I've heard.

As shopping centres go, this one wasn't bad at all. Layout can get a bit confusing but that is as much as I can go with any bad points. It's clean, safe and you can get almost everything in there. There are shops that cater for every price range, has a large amount of restaurants and good place to get souvenirs etc. Easy to get to as every taxi driver has heard of Rio Sul and there is a taxi rank outside with someone on hand to help.
