We absolutely loved this Hippie Market! We stayed away from the usual travel trinkets, opting for amazing one of a kind paintings, a unique locally made backpack purse made from excellent quality leather, and a nicely designed cotton yoga shirt! All were highly affordable, unique, quality finds. I just wish we had a little more time to spend there as... More

My family and I loved this market. :-) Great selection of Brazilian art and artists happy to talk about their work, also crafts, jewelry, toys, fabric arts, clothing - all handmade and beautiful. We stopped by every time we visited Rio - a MUST VISIT for sure!

This was a great shopping experience. This is a great place for t shirts, trinkets and gifts to bring home. There were lots of vendors selling a variety of purses, jewelry, clothing, artwork, you name it. I was especially drawn to the artwork, and jewelry and purchased several items to bring home. The prices were reasonable, and many of the... More

LOTS of clever, good quality products. Leather, wood, metal, candles, clothes, toys, crafts, jewelry, food, paintings. you'll be amazed at the selection and the quality. And the prices are pretty good. Most of the merchants will give you a discount if you pay cash.

The Hippie Fair Just off Ipanema beach on Sunday, this is a treasure trove of art and local crafts several blocks square. It is a feast for the eyes of textiles, accessories and clothing, with a long and varied outdoor gallery of paintings. All the vendors were smiling and as helpful as could be. We purchased a wall hanging painted... More

This market offers a variety of items and some good values. We made a number of purchases here. Many places do accept credit cards.

The Hippie Fair is the best place to pick up your souvenirs for a bargain. Well worth the visit if you are there on a Sunday.

It's a bit touristy and perhaps not a market you would make a particular trip to, but if you're passing thru or in the area, why not. You can buy some small trinkets (shop around for the cheaper ones) and sample some authentic Bahia food.
