With so many things to do ad see in Rio, I'd only go here if the weather is poor or if you have a lot of extra time.

A true cultural center, no cost to get in, with great rotating exhibitions. I liked the building was it was re-done and made over into something wonderful for Rio. Well thought out and executed. The staff is not particularly helpful or welcoming, but I read that before I got there so I had low expectations in that regard. Worth a... More

This building belongs to a bank and it has been transformed in a Cultural Center that is offering qualitative free exhibitions and cultural initiative. When I visited a very interesting Impressionist exhibit was on and a contemporary artist one as well. The place if crowded of interesting people, art and culture is a good glue! a branch of the famous... More

Excellent expositions, very organized. The building has an astonishing architecture with a beautiful dome where you can appreciate in the first floor. Some days on weekends they promote a party at night called "Madrugada no Centro" that is awesome!

They have theatre performances happening from monday to sunday and even a private cinema sections with old movies from all over the world for a very cheap membership. CCBB opens from Tuesday... Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
