The small house on two levels is full of inventions, such as a special shower head, also a small bed which doubled up as a desk. There are quotations around the house in English describing the life of Santos Dumont, who was a hero of early aviation and no mean inventor.

Summer home of Santos Dumont -- the Father of Brazil Aviation and the namesake of Rio's domestic airport. Although extremely wealthy, Dumont lived modestly in this small house he designed himself. Built in 1918. Be sure to notice the unique wooden ladder/staircase to the second floor. Also note that there is no kitchen -- all of his food was delivered from the hotel across the street. Besides his role in aviation, Santos Dumont also invented the wristwatch and was a founder of the Iguassu National Park. Very interesting and worth a visit.

Nice museum to learn a bit about Santos Dumont and a bit of the aeronautical history. The full ticket costs 8 reals.

The museum is the small house of Santos Dumont. It has some interesting items but nothing that would be mind-blowing. If you're interested in the history of aviation, you will enjoy this place otherwise it is just another museum.

We spent an amazing day because of our outstanding tour leader Flávio! We want to see Casa Stefan Zweig and Flávio had studied this spot and was able to give us a thorough review of this and all other places!

The "museum" is the tiny house of Santos Dumont. Along with few curiosities the visit won't last 40 minutes. Should have more interesting things to see.

This place is at the top of a hill and the steps are toggled, because Dumont was notoriously superstitious and needed everybody to climb left foot first. The house is tiny and has no kitchen, since the famous aviation pioneer had all his meals delivered from a hotel across the street. There is a room for kids to color drawings related to the history of aviation. Worth a visit!

Santos Dumont’s house exhibits a little bit of the inventive character of the father of aviation. This charming little place can’t be missed.
