We did the brewery tour - which was excellent with 3 samples. A big similar to the Guinness experience in Dublin. Also had dinner at the bar. Excellent good! A great stop in Petropolis.

Excellent! Very well laid out, happy and helpful staff. We didn't do a tour - there were 4 of us and did a walk-about. Well marked from beginning to end. Beer at the start and another two as you go (all different but they were all delicious). You get to keep the little glass as a reminder you've been there. Nice touch!

Having been to a few beer distilleries in the past, this is certainly one of the more interactive , informative and engrossing. Reminded me very much of Heinekens museum in Amsterdam, now owned of course by Ambev who own Bohemia.

Anyway, great hour or so to learn about the history of beer but also understanding the whole process. Great for couples and family alike.

Totally lack of customer service at restaurant and beer bar. Apparently you're just another one time visting tourist.

All you ever wanted to know about the history of beer. The original Bohemia brand (better than Mexico's copy). Well worth the trip. Nice headphone translations for the basic tour.. My only regret is that they didn't have it for the other Master tours

Visited this place to meet with a friend. Great tapas and beers. Close to the town centre. Third time lucky.

Very nice tour with a lot of good information about how this excellent beer is made. Special experience in taste and flavor for a amazing pilsen beer with more of 150 years of continuous manufacturing on the Bohemia Brewery, in the highlands of Petropolis, city that is 2.5 hours by car from Rio de Janeiro. They know all about a Beer of very quality and old tradition.

The brewery was wonderful! They did a great job accommodating for us by giving us an English translation of the tour! It was incredibly interesting and delicious!

Beautiful building where used to be the very first Brazilian brewery, where a complete set of information about the beverage and where we can eat and drink the beers produced over there.

I was part of a group of 4 English speaking only tourists. We made up one third of the the group tour through the brewery.
While the tour, which was self paced for the majority of it, reading information both in Portuguese and English, the most interesting part of the tour was spoken only in Portuguese. The tour guide came up to each of us and told us that he was not going to explain any of the beer making process in English, that it was only in Portuguese and we would have to miss out on this part. He only spoke for a maximum of five minutes, so I couldn’t see why he refused to interpret for us. He spoke very good English, so this would not have been problematical for him.
He definitely did not like us asking questions and answered very abruptly and even told us to wait!
To be honest, he was very rude towards us, with very abrupt and condescending remarks. He readily took our admission money, but that was where the interaction ended.
If you are an English speaking tourist, make sure you ask if there will be an explanation of the brewing process in English. Don’t just accept that there are written explanations in English beneath the Portuguese ones, but insist that an oral English version is given when that part of the tour is experienced.
Another thing: the English interpretation of Portuguese is quite poor. Sentences often didn’t make sense and the grammar and punctuation were just as bad. It made reading the information very difficult to understand.
