Jabaquara Beach is a quiet sandy beach just outside of Paraty’s historic centre.
The beach is surrounded by lush green mountains and relatively uncrowded.
You can kayak or paddle board from the beach but I wouldn’t come here to swim, unless you want to be covered in sandy mud. The water here is dark and warm and when the tides out, the floor can be pretty slushy.
The restaurants all serve pretty much the same dishes and are each closed on different days. Each have tables and chairs, some deck chairs right on the beach so you can spend most of the day relaxing in the shade of umbrellas if you want to avoid being too sandy. Most have working WiFi but you need to ask.
Walk further down the beach away from town for cheaper prices per dish.
There is also a footpath that runs along the beach by the road, which we found perfect for running laps.

Jabaquara Beach was nothing special to be honest. There's a few islands not far offshore that you can kayak or stand-up paddle to but it's nothing spectacular.
I visited to kill some time but I wouldn't plan an itineray around visiting this beach.

Not the nicest beach really. If you want a nice one catch a bus to Trinidade or take a boat trip around the islands of Paraty.
However, it's a good place to go running in the morning or evening or maybe to have a few drinks or food if you don't want to do that in the oldtown.

This is a great area of Paraty. You can walk here in 15 minutes from the historic centre - it's up an over a hill though so perhaps take a cab if you find walking difficult. This is a beach area where all kinds of equipment is for rent, from outrigger canoes to SUPs to kayaks. There are many friendly little bars and restaurants along the beach. Several pousadas and hostels as well. Definitely worth a visit. Completely different from the historic centre in Paraty. On the way over the hill, on the beach side, there are some faces and heads carved rock, quite difficult to spot, but interesting. Restaurant prices seem better here than in the historic centre. Count your change in the grocery store here.

Jabaquara beach area is amazing. It has a totally calm, relaxed and cool feel to it. The beach is lovely and the water calm and safe to swim. However my main attraction here is the beach fronted bar/grill of Rebordosa (sadly there's nowhere to review this). The place is buzzing by day and tranquil by night with candles illuminating the outdoor tables. The service is great: they were friendly and attentive. We had the grilled chicken platter which was both huge and delicious. It came with potatoes, olives, salad and other vegetables. From what I can remember it was very reasonably priced and the food was of great quality. So if you're in Jabaquara for the day or the evening, enjoy your surroundings and eat at Rebordosa.

The beach is very calm and quiet, perfect for a low key beach day. No waves which makes it more like a lake. There is a mud area to make your own day spa mud scrub, you can walk for almost 2k out into the ocean and the water will only reach your knees, and you can kayak around to the different beaches in Centro.

It's located within walking distance from Paraty centre. We went there during the festival when the locals follow the bloco and cover themselves with mud. We enjoyed taking part of that experience. If you go to the mangroves make sure to be careful about crabs. The mud is supposed to have some kind of healing effect. Enjoy your time !

Quiet place near by the historic centre of the city, ideal to scape the turists and enjoy a a drink on the beach.

As beaches in Brazil this beach is below average. Calm water with lots of places to sit around and eat but it’s not the cleanest nor is it the best looking. The vendors on the beach are cheap though. 10REAL for 30 min on a kayak is cheap

Calm beach and good for kids to play and swim. Restaurants across the street if you didn’t want to get something from the stalls. Beach was not crowded and the stalls played music at reasonable volumes without becoming a nuisance.

A lama tb deixa a água escura. Não é poluição. Mas tem gente que encara e até passa a lama no corpo. Aí vai de cada um...
