Even under nine inches of water (lunar tide) still beautiful....we are loving Paraty, everyone so friendly and welcoming here.

Paraty is a small town, so it doesn’t take long to get around. Strolling around the cobbled streets is a nice way to spend an afternoon. There are lots of arty shops around for some souvenir shopping and some nice bars/cafes to chill out in.

You can find local artisans, as well as some clothing stores and the local booze. Please watch your steps, I would recommend you to were comfortable and flat shoes.

My wife and I went to Paraty once more to visit Feira Literária de Paraty (FLIP). Of course, we had to take a walk around Centro Histórico. Praça da Matriz is a wonderful place to feel the vibe!

Once you are in Paraty its a must to visit. Its fine for spending a couple of hours, visit the churches ( they have 4 in the historical center) and buy some shenanigans

Our visit to Paraty was the end of our tour of the Estrada Real over two weeks. To me it is the best preserved of the gold towns and gives the greatest sense of being able to walk the streets of that time. Tiradentes also...More

It´s seems like we´re back in the 19th century, where all the center of the city is surround by antigue houses and church.

This is Paraty's main plaza near the bridge. Nuestra Senhora Matriz church on it is a pretty church, well lit at night.
