Am absolutely beautiful piece of modernist architecture - sadly on the day I visited they’re were tacky banners hung on the building destroying the aesthetics . Very poor decision making by management

Other than that once the banners and unsightly garbage is removed well worth a visit

This is a beautiful museum to look at. Shaped like a saucer and we found a rather scenic way to get there. A mixture of ferry and Uber.

There are great views that can be had from here.

As for the museum, what a disappointment. There is so much space to fill and what they filled it with showed a lack of imagination.

Situated in Niteroi, suburb of Rio. Interesting design and nice view of Rio de Janeiro and of some Favela

This site of this museum perched on a cliff and looking back at Rio is reason enough to visit this glorious building designed by the genius, Oscar Neimeyer. We also really enjoyed the interesting interactive exhibits. Must see...

The MAC is a must visit when in Niteroi. Set in a beautiful location, the museum offers amazing views in every direction for photos or just spending quiet time to absorb the special vibe. You will not regret a visit to this iconic museum.

Very impressive building. The view from the forecourt is nice. You have a different view from Rio. The Exhibits were, we can say, alternative. We like them. It is another point of view for modern art.

Oh my! Such an incredible piece of architecture and an abomination of a museum. The “art” was a joke. Don’t bother spending the time inside. Total waste!

it was raining when we were in Rio so we had to forget beach and look for culture - and it proved to be advantage as it allowed us to go to Niteroi and visit this museum. Just go there, its amazing. And make sure to visit the coffeeshop/restaurant - it will prove the impact of good architecture on good living

The museum building is historic and well known as a cultural icon due to its unusual design. I was also quite delighted to find some excellent exhibitions there. It was disappointing that the water feature at the bottom of the building (a reflecting pool) was not working on that day, but I also really enjoyed a coffee and pastry in the cafe at the lower level.

This museum was made by a famous architect in Brazil (he did the Brazilian Capital - Brazilia. His name is Niemeyer).
The architect of the museum is amazing and has one of the most amazing views of Rio de Janeiro.
If you go to the right side you can see a the key mountains in Rio (Corcovado and Pao de Acucar), if you go to the left you can see the bay entrance.
I strong recommend you visit it near the sun set so you can get amazing photos.
