I visited the falls in 2008 as part of a wider-ranging trip through SA. The site is quite amazing, the amount of falling water and the contrasting surroundings and support for tourists generally make this place visiting and then revisiting again to make sure. In...More

I think that you get the best experience of the river by taking the fast boat (a definite MUST) that takes you underneath the falls and by walking the bridge trail from the train station to the Garganta del Diablo. By taking the boat you...More

We first saw it from the bridge, separating Brazil and Argentina, then we saw it much closer when walking on the catwalks to get to the falls. Even very close to the roaring falls, it was amazingly quiet and full of big fish.

One of the great rivers of the world. Great area for exploring flora and fauna along the river too. Then the river tumbles over the falls creating a wonder beyond description.

The river is the lifeblood of the region, and so the development that has taken place would not have happened but for the river, so you really can't get away from the river; and it forms the international border too.

This river is surrounded by amazing rainforest, and you even see monkeys and several exotic birds. It is a great experience for the more adventurous traveller.

Walk along the metal walkways to take in the spectacular views. It can get quite busy later in the day, so the earlier you can get started, the better.

A never to be forgotten life time experience. Nature at its wettest, wildest most spectacular best. You have to photo it, but beware depending on the wind direction it can be very wet, so a protective cover for your camera/phone is advisable.
