Very nice place to enjoy a nice walk in safe and pretty surroundings. Conveniently surrounded by many stores, so you can buy souvenirs, clothes, supplies--anything you need! Located close to the historic sector of the city, so it is a great way to spend part of a day, whether you travel for business or pleasure.

In a first glance it looks like just another pedestrian street but if you spend a little more time you can discover Boca Maldita, where citizens use to reune to discuss the government and politicians acts! The rocks that compound the pavement form beautiful Araucaria seeds arrangments and over them artists offer their art. At Christmas time crowds attend to children chorus at Palacio Avenida.

Jaime Lerner convinced us all, or the hype surrounding Curitiba convinced us all that the Flowers Street was the first pedestrian shopping street in Latin America. Well, perhaps it is, but there seems little out of the ordinary here. Simply no cars allowed, which is good. Real good.

Rua das Flores is one of the main attractions of Curitiba, Brazil. It has many little shops, cafes and restaurants. There are many places to shop and places to grab a bite to eat. The main part of this street stretches from Rua Presidente Faria to the Praca Osorio. Depending on when you visit, you may even get to see a live concert with a full stage. Usually, there is some kind of entertainment with singers or artists that can make a drawing of you for a decent price.
If you are looking for souvenirs, I highly recommend Lembrancas do Parana. It is a small shop that sells various goods, especially products made from wood. There is a great selection of products available. I bought a wood box as a gift and the lady who runs the shop carved a name into the box. Great service and highly recommended for a souvenir from Curitiba. Location: Rua das Flores/Quinze de Novembro 618 near the corner of Flowers Street and Pres. Faria.
While there are many places to see here, I gave this attraction a lower rating because you will most likely see homeless people camped on the sides of banks and buildings. I have seen some older people sit or rest in middle of a sidewalk begging for money. In addition, there is an area near a fountain (around Dr. Muricy) where you will usually see a group of punks (think late 70's Britain hair style/Sex Pistols) who gather there. I recommend visiting the area in a group and avoid at night.
At the end of the main run towards Praca Osorio, you may see a plethora of tents that serve food. I recommend the food there as there are foods from many parts of Brazil such as meats from Rio Grande do Sul. There is international fare from Belgium, Portugal and Japan as well. One final note: If you decide here in December, the Flowers Street is completely lit up with colorful lights from metal frames that cover several blocks. The area also has a Christmas show from Palacio Avenida (the HSBC bank) that features children singing from windows of the building.

This pedestrian-only boulevard gives a big cosmopolitan touch to the city, Lot of shopping, open air coffee shops and restaurants attracts visitors and locals. On Saturdays find artists selling paintings and handcrafts, few street entertainers as well. Same day the city offers diverse games and fun for children.

Heart of the city, where people from all social classes and origins meet each other. A place to see the real life of the residents. The town would not be the same without this street.

A lot of shops in this street. Best shops however are in the shopping malls.

Me and my friends went to Bulgaria and had the worst expersiemce of our lives. We were on the beech drinking and two of our friends decided to hop on a boat at the beach. The security came over and pulled us of the boat. We said sorry but they decided to pepper spray us in the eyes and kick us on the ground when we couldn’t see. They also spat on us and hit us with batons even thought we were apologizing. We had to go hospital and get antihistamines for our eyes. They also hit the girls who done nothing and called us white Irish pricks. They shaded the girls and tried to pull there tops downs. They laughed the entire time. I would never ever ever recommend this place to anyone again ever.

Does the hotel receive customer packages/order deliveries? If so, is there any cost for this service?
Written 19 February 2015
I believe all hotels located in the Rua das Flores region accept deliveries of orders from guests.
