Great place to know how Niemayer, the architect, and former president Juscelino Kubitschek, by then mayor of Belo Horizonte, started to plan Brasíla.
This is a must see in Belo Horizonte. The first Oscar Niemeyer's buildings are still impressive. But do not try to walk or bike the perimeter of the lake, unless you are truly an athlete. The 18K may sound possible, but it is really hard.
It´s a beautiful place with many Niemeyer's projects as "Igrejinha da Pampulha, Museu de Arte, Casa do Baile, ...", all of them, around the lake. But now, all these sites are under a "sine die" restoration but you can still come and enjoy the soul...More
