About
The Temple of Good Will (TGW) is an ecumenical monument located in Brazil's capital. It was conceived and built by Jose de Paiva Netto, President of the Legion of Good Will (LBV), who inaugurated it in October 1989. Every year it receives more than one million pilgrims, making it the most visited place in the city, according to official data from the State Secretariat of Tourism of the Federal District (SETUR). Acclaimed by the people as one of the Seven Wonders of Brasilia, the TGW is on the official list of monuments for tourists to visit during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It is part of the Legion of Good Will's Ecumenical Complex, together with the World Parliament of Ecumenical Fraternity, the LBV's ParlaMundi. Known as the Temple of Peace, it is a mystical and spiritual icon. Its doors are open day and night to serve the needs of its visitors searching for a place to pray or meditate freely, according to their beliefs.

It is a temple of the LBV religion and at the same time a museum addressed to the Leader and members of that church. Inaugurated in 1989, it was built in the form of a pyramid with multiple measurements of 7... The construction was considered one of the 7 wonders of the Material Cultural Heritage of Brasília. Long dresses are recommended to visit. I didn't know. As my wife and I were wearing shorts, I was offered a pants and a long skirt to my wife. Right at the entrance, in the temple ship, there is a caracol to perform prayers (optional). For various environments there are commendations received and performed by LBV. There is a souvenir shop and a cafeteria. When we went, there was an exhibition from Egypt, but as the payment was separate, we chose not to make the visit. Members / staff were very attentive.

The Temple of Good Will, with free entry, has a very interesting pyramid-shaped architecture. Inside, a very quiet space for meditation and reflection. Souvenir shop with objects from various religious traditions, as well as images of personalities and leaders. An Egyptian space, with a symbolic entrance fee, super accessible, very interesting with monitoring. There is also a café, so to end the visit a coffee is a good idea!

This is a place that people say is for meditation but actually you are not that encouraged to spend a long time there, since you have to walk the path that leads to the crystal and move on.

We were thrilled to find the Temple of Good Will (TGW) in the capital of Brazil, Brasilia. The pyramid shaped building has a labyrinth on the lower level inside - set up to walk while holding intentions for peace, with a sign in book, energized water to sip, and a place to write and put your prayer requests to be held in this field. This was what drew us originally as we enjoy the balancing and connected energies of labyrinths in various places around the world.

We were impressed at all the extensive displays of contributions from many countries around the world including a section of Egyptian statues. Pictures and acknowledgement of many peacemakers from hundreds of years of Earth's history decorate the walls, and there are many displays and contributions from many countries. It is quite inspiring and touching - and we felt worth the visit.

We learned there that Jose de Paiva Netto, who developed and opened the Temple in October 1989, is also an extensive author. We have yet to check out his writing. We learned while in Brazil there are many interesting authors and individuals who helped cultivate open minded global views.

NOTE: The Temple of Good Will is open 24 hrs. Their dress code includes being modest and knees covered. For those who show up in shorts they have aprons that can be worn.

The Templo da Boa Vontade was created by the Legion of Goodwill in 1989. It is a very visually attractive building and incorporates seven pyramids joined to form a cone that is topped with a 21kg crystal. I visited with a friend from Brasilia who acted as my guide. Visitors are invited to take off their shoes and walk along the spirally inner circle via the black path meditating as they do so stopping in the centre to contemplate their lives. You must return via the white path. The temple contains a collection of artefacts and gifts received from various religions around the world. There is a small shop that has souvenirs and mementoes for sale.

The external appearance of the Templo shows the attempt to imitate the design language of Oscar Niemeyer with no convincing result.

The Templo claims tolerance of faith but its tolerance ends at bermuda shorts, which nowhere in Brasil had been a point of discussion for entering churches. (I do not speak about beach wear.) The attitude and appearance of the custodians are authoritarian but not driven by goodwill.

Inside no religious atmosphere was generated by the interior design, light or decoration.

Taking in account that it is situated apart of the most worthwhile sights skip it of your agenda if you have no special purpose to go therefore.

We took the train and walked the few blocks but it was a bit difficult to locate as there are not a lot of signs, just look for the grass with a pyramid just beyond the hospital sector. It was so welcoming we were invited straight in to the temple where you are encouraged to walk the black then white path in quiet meditation. It was a very peaceful thing to do I just wished that I had toured the adjacent building first as it gives more of the history of the temple and explains some of the aspects; such as the crystal projecting a coloured light onto the steel work at the end of the walk depending on the sunlight reflecting through it at the time of day. If you would like more time for reflection there is also a room underneath that has been fitted out in comfy chairs in an egyptian style for 2 Real you can take as long as you wish in quiet contemplation and was the only place where a fee is charged.

The picture is wrong. The picture shown when I wrote the review is of the Cathedral (also worth visiting).
At the Legião Temple they show the works of the founder of the Legião da Boa Vontade and a bit of their work on charity programs. Next to the temple there is a library and an auditorium. In the temple There are rooms for meditation and prayer. The main attraction is a spiral on he floor where you walk in direction to the center of the pyramid shaped building where, on the ceiling there is a 20-something kg pure crystal stone.

The entrance leads to the main room, the pyramid of spiral floor under the largest pure crystal rock, welcoming the visitor to a recharging barefoot walk. Next room is an art gallery and right after a mineral water fountain. There's a library, a memorial for the founder of LBV (LGW), Mr. Paiva Netto, and more. A beautiful place for meditation and contemplation.
