It's better known for its unofficial name Água Mineral. Because it is relatively inexpensive and very close to the city, people call its pools "the beach of Brasilia". There's a cap on the number of visitors each day to ensure the preservation of the park, so if you must go on a weekend, be prepared to get there before 8 AM and wait in line.
There's nothing special about the pools, really. Leave it for the locals. Go for the hikes, where you can see the uniqueness of the vegetation of the Cerrado, a kind of savanah indigenous to central Brazil somewhat similar to its African cousin.
There are 2 trails: Capivara (about 15-20 minutes) and Cristal Água (1 hour). They're both really easy. Capivara is well shadowed and closer to the pool area, and it's quite busy at all times so no special precautions are needed.
For Cristal Água you should bring comfortable shoes, a bottle of water, sunscreen and a hat. However, you will have a great opportunity of enjoying silence and contact with nature, as hikers are few and far between even on the busiest days.

We went here on a Wednesday and found it to be uncrowned and overall relaxing. We saw monkeys and wildlife. We're able to get a table. Swim. Go on the nature trails and feel like we were miles away from the big city. All for a few dollars. We will go back every time we visitBrasilia from now on.

If you really want to feel a bit of what the environment where Brasilia has landed on is lke, the Brazilian savana known as "Cerrado", you must pay a visit. There are few options for meals in there, two wonderful natural water pools (the pools are not naturally formed themselves though), and very nice tracks for those who enjoying walking or riding around. Inexpensive and beautiful. One can even see, in less crowed days, some of the species that live in the park, such as monkeys, tons of birds or even the "guará" wolf (no, really, I have seen them a couple of times).

.....this park is in my hometown, Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. After years, I still enjoy one of the best feature of this park: the swimming pools have NATURAL water, with no chemicals whatsoever. They keep clean by keep the water moving, running, always flowing. Love this place !

The main attraction in this park are the two Mineral Pools hence the name Agua Mineral. Water is refreshing and clean since its coming in from a content flowing spring. At the time of this writing the larger of the two pools is closed for remodeling so right now only one of the pools is open. There are a couple of trails to hike on and when you get back you can cool off in the pool. I believe there is only food available on the weekends. Nice place to bring the family.

It is a huge park with something for everyone, including art and craft stores, swings and play stuff for kids, view of the city lake.

We went to the Brasilia National Park in a Saturday. It mostly consisted of long walking trails, a few amongst trees but most uncovered/hot. Didn't see any wildlife. We were told there would be "waterfalls" at the end of one trail, and when we got there after a few miles of walking, it was more like a "puddle." The natural water pool that they have did seem entertaining, but wasn't sure how clean it must be so didn't go in. Also hoped for some bike rentals, but they didn't have.
Bring food too because there is none to purchase there. Finally, foreigners get charged 15 Real as opposed to 7-8 Real for locals.
If you're up for walking trails with not much of a view, this is your place. If not, you're not missing much.

There is a feel of artificiality with an asphalt road built by demolishing trees. The ponds, pools are full of stagnant bad smell water.

We got a taxi out to the park from the hotel quarter in Brasilia. It cost 50-60 Real and was easy to organise via our hotel reception - they arranged for someone to pick us up at 1630 when the park (allegedly) closes (we saw no sign of anyone leaving at this time).
Entry to the park was 12 Real each - info we could find before varied hugely from 2 to 20 and there is some suggestion it varies depending on if you are Brazilian or not! So go prepared with a bit of cash.
There is a big swimming pool, changing room and toilets. We didn't use the pool as we were here to see some Brazilian animals!
There are a few trails around the park. The shortest one, Capivara, takes you through a forest. We saw lots of birds and butterflies here in the morning (before 10), including two bare-faced Curassows. It took us about 90 minutes with lots of stopping for animals - you could do it much faster.
The longer trail Cristal d’água is split into a few distances, and we opted for the shortest one (5km), given our slow walking speed. This trail goes through proper Serrado. The scenery is great, but it's all flat so no sweeping vistas. We saw hardly any animals on this trail and it took us a really long time (3 hours?). Take lots of water too as there is no shelter anywhere.
As soon as we got to the pool again, lots of wildlife. Hummingbirds, monkeys, agouti's, all kinds of things. So if you want to laze by the pool, don't be afraid of missing out, it seems to be the best spot!

It has a number of tracks, which allows you to get to know the local cerrado, as well as two natural pools, refreshing in always hot Brasilia. 20 min car ride from the city center.
