If I were to rate the Panteao da Patria based only on its content and exhibits, it would only earn a 2 star at best. The reason to visit, however, is purely for the architectural experience! The use of shape in the building contour, the fun ramps to access the main entrance from the plaza (and to visit the space below where you can truly appreciate the unique features on the outside of the Panteao) are what set this building apart! Inside on the upper level, the stained glass provides a stunning effect that should not be rushed. Sit down, let your eyes adjust to the lighting, and admire the peaceful beauty and tranquility of this architectural marvel!

Just like the national museum the building is very appealing from the outside, but there is not much to see in it. Quite a wasted space one could say.

It theoretially serves historical purposes and presents some facts and profiles from the recent Brazilian history, however they seemed to be a bit biased and present subjective, very idealistic point of view. Not truly what happened given all the knowledge we have now. Propaganda museum would be a good name.

What to say about a place that is supposed to house the heroes of a country, but has on the entrance wall the face and writings of a former senator and president,s till alive, and whose deeds are not celebrated by many? Skip it!

This building, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, is a tribute and monument to honor the patriots and heroes of Brazil after the revolution. The glass mosaic, designed by Marianne Peretti, is just as modern as the building itself. It is located at the Squeare of Powers and the entrance is free.

Small (by local standards) building, quite interesting with its free shapes in direct opposition to the huge institutions that surround it. Unless you're a Brazilian history buff, don't bother with the interior.

This modernist building is a beautiful structure in the form of a dove. It was built in the eighties and it is a project of Oscar Niemeyer, who is 104 years old and still works! Worth seeing it!
