Have only been here in winter and it is so beautiful. This year we did the candlelight ski/snowshoe and that was the best. The people here are so welcoming and helpful. The trails are very nice with a mix of open area and wooded area. Every time we have come, the parking lot looks full, but the trails were never crowded except during the evening walks. However, even then it was not bad and people on the trails were friendly. I had family who came with their grade school for a field trip and thought it was very nice. Highly recommend.

Clean facilities with well-maintained hiking trails. The trails are marked fairly well, although we did get turned around once. Bring bug spray!

Easy to get to going North out of Appleton. Open to the public to walk the trails at no cost. You can walk, stop to take in the ponds, or stop on the benches to enjoy the quiet and scenery around you. A great place to spend time with family and the kids.

Wedding at Bubolz - The Pines (outdoor)
Terrible Coordination/Communication, Overcharged, Bad Contract
We are significantly underwhelmed with our experience of getting married at Bubolz Nature Preserve. First off, the venue has gone through three different employees as event managers. This caused a lot of issues with coordination between us and the venue, as you could imagine. Some of our "must have" options, that we had agreed upon with the past employees became a fight for them to happen after new employees took over. I personally had to set-up "the bar", which was really just a folding card table without even a table cloth, and the tables that we had requested. On top of it all, the venue managers are charging us an extra $1,000 for a backup space to the outdoor ceremony, even after discussing that we did not need or want a back-up space with a previous employee. Even though the contact says that we paid an amount "in full", they are still charging us this after the fact, with no mention of it prior.
It is really too bad that such a beautiful place for weddings is mismanaged to such a degree. I only recommend if you are up for a fight.

This is not only a beautiful garden to walk through, I have been to a few weddings and it is such a lovely backdrop.
It is also a great place to have photos taken, cute arbors, benches and ponds.

Beautiful and quiet. Has an extensive network of well maintained trails. Lots of birds. Little gazebos scattered here and there provide shelter when the sky opens up as it so often does in Wisconsin.

Very nice trail system. The education center was not of much interest to us as we just wanted to get in a bit of hiking. Trails could use better signage, but overall nice.

Loved this area? Plenty of benches to sit in several locations and you can buy corn to feed the ducks. Lots of photo opportunities!

Bubolz is just outside of Appleton, but after you get out on the trails, you would think you are far removed from a city. The trails are quiet, just a little noise from I41, traffic is light, the trails are well maintained. The markings are very limited, it may be a little confusing, but you can not get lost, worst case you get a little more hiking in . The trails are level, you will see deer and birds. There are about 10 miles of trails total, you can take short loops also.
They just build a new nature center, it looks awesome, but I have not been in it yet.

Very nice place for an easy walk. The trails were very wet the day I was there, but I was still able to walk a bit, listen to the birds, and enjoy the spring day. There are benches to rest and take in the scenery.

Can you fish at bubolz nature preserve?
Written 27 July 2016
They have some small ponds there but I do not think you are allowed to fish nor would there be a ton of fish in there. There are lots of frogging opportunities though if you are looking for a kid activity. Maybe give them a call (920) 731-6041
