Small art museum with an enjoyable exhibit

Stopped in to view the "Little Golden Books" exhibit. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the gallery set up was easy to navigate. Great for a quick visit.

"I smell strawberries" ... I will never forget The Poky Little Puppy. Current exhibit of original art created for Golden Books presented in the tiered gallery of the Trout brought back childhood memories. They have coloring opportunities for kids and special Wednesday morning special kids activities.

My daughter and I spent the afternoon looking at the Little Golden Books Art exhibit that the Trout Museum is currently featuring. This was our first visit and it was entertaining. Highlight: Richard Scarry's beautiful illustrations for Ole Rissom's "I Am a Bunny" book. It was fun to compare the styles of the many featured artists through the decades. We... More

I was told I was In the Appleton Art in the Park as I am a Copper Artist... they withdrew $230.00 from my account. ..I and other family members travel over 200 miles and booked non refundable hotels at very high booking rates due to the Oshkosh air show going on, as well as the 200 artist in the show.... Part museum, part school, part gathering place. The lighting on the outside is beautiful and fun to watch it change colors. Enjoy it while listening to a concert in the adjacent park or strolling the farm market.

Trout exhibits are by donation so this makes a nice date night in conjunction with dinner or drinks downtown. However, double check to make sure they don't have anything else going on as they do not update their website. We were recently disappointed by a private event when we wanted to see the latest exhibit. Love the Christmas tree auction... More

We've been to the Trout a number of times, mostly for the free exhibits sponsored by the likes of Blount and Secura. I truly have enjoyed seeing the local talent on exhibit at the free exhibits and even to see the work on display of two artists we know!

I was thankful that I didn't even pay when I visited here. It wasn't worth the 20 minutes it took to walk through the building.

I have been to several exhibitions and they range in quailty. I wish more was done to engage the public with the art and that more attention was paid to labels and educational information. The exhibitions are pretty basic and you can zoom through pretty quickly. It's upsetting when they have exhibitions that only have low quality prints like the... More

We are museum buffs and usually hit Chicago exhibits - this place was terrible. It has 1 large room - with a small dated balcony. Not much art on display/ nothing artistic about this place. Appleton needs to step it up!
