Amazing view of the city Fortaleza. Great sand. And good place to get a nice shot of the city. A bit windy at the end of the of the molo! But this is a place to see if you are in town.

Clean beach. To sit a table there is a 10 BSL charge. Watch the large waves and currents. I recommend going later in the afternoon into sunset

First of all I would like to admit how nice is ocean there: it is quite wild if you swim a bit far from the beach and the water is just ideal (not hot and not cold, clean and very salty). Second thing that I consider as a plus is safety: there are many locals in the morning (from 5 am to near 7 am they swim and a bunch of people jogging around. I am still under a huge impression after my first morning there: people of all ages run and do sport!!!! Brazilians should be proud of themselves!!!). Third thing is placed also along the beach line: it is a line with many different people that sell everything from leather to Brazilian nuts and goodies. You can always negotiate there. I am absolutely in love with their crafts and jewerly (gonna buy in a few days).
What was not that nice is that they don’t have toilets around (where do you go, people?). I can understand locals - they go home and most of them live close. But what about tourists? All the toilets around are closed or dirty and the option is only to try your luck in cafes..

Anyway and in overall, the ocean is still there. And this is the only thing we need. Isn’t it?

The beach is scarified daily and the fine sand is very clean and ideally suited to the valley games that are played there

I found the beaches clean, wide and ok for such a big city but having said that, Brazil has so many beautiful beaches, many of which I found to better, nicer, more quite and peaceful. We came to meet friends but we would not do a detour to come for this beach.

The sea is calm and the beach is clean. The beach itself felt safe. I wouldn't recommend going too far from that though. Specially at night. There are a lot of people selling traditional food, caipirinhas and coconuts! Delicious. The market is also very cool to buy art work from locals. Prices are very reasonable.

We were visiting while cruising and this was a port we did not like very much. Traveling on Royal Princess February 2019. Found the port and beach areas in general unclean and a place I wouldn't want to visit in depth.

We stopped here for a photo/selfie stop at the end of our highlights tour of the city. The beach is HUGE with loads of nice sandy beaches. The beach was mostly vacant when we stopped here mid-week just after 12 noon. The pier provided a nice walk and an opportunity of some nice beach shots of the many hotels that line the beachfront main road. Looks like Miami Beach with all the hotels.

BOTTOM LINE: Beautiful beach to look at. The city takes good care to keep the sand clean and trash free. We were warned that this beach is not for swimming because of pollution, so we did not. Great location for for QUICK pics and selfies. The stop had two local police officers at our bus stop with a jeep vehicle as a precaution. I would not trust walking alone here (day or night) or anywhere else since tourist are a big target for pickpockets and theft here and in most parts of Brazil. MY RATING: 7/10.

The beach makes a good photo, but that’s about it. I walked on the pier and it was pleasant, but the light poles are corroded and the sides of the structure are old (totally deserved a new coat of painting). Although I saw some locals swimming, this is a polluted beach, and this is not advisable. If you come, don’t forget to bring sunscreen. We’re close to the Equator and one can get sunburned easily.

Iracema Beach has really improved during the last 2-3 years. Today a lively place both daytime and nighttime with mainly locals. Quite often concerts and other music activities.
