It's a small beach in Salvador, very far from the city centre and other landmarks in town. A good place to rest and walk by the beach. Several tasteful restaurants around. Nothing special but an option for people who are always around.

It's calm and not filthy like other Salvador beaches (Ex.: Itapoã). Tip: go there before 9h30 AM: water is calmer and there are lots of "natural pool" all over de place. Great for swimming! In the afternoon the waves are higher and good to see. At 5h30 AM is already clear and warming enough to go to the beach. REALLY!

Fernandosouzafilho, The Stella Maris Square is one of the most beautiful in Salvador, as you mentioned at low tide, there are natural swimming pools, excellent to take the children, but the high tide is an excellent request for surfers. One thing is for sure, the semrpe visit is worth it. Thanks for the rating and the visit. Not good for kids at all. Too wavy and not very safe because it is a little desert. We spent some time there in April and our resort was facing the beach but the resort's guard said to dont walk far from there because people can be mugged.

camaralrs, With a paradisiacal look, the place is surrounded by a beautiful coconut grove and native vegetation. For those who are strolling with family and friends. There is a river that runs through the sand and goes towards the beach. The open sea has beautiful shades of green and its strong waves are used by surfers and bodyboarders. The beach of Stella Maris also has stretches protected by rocks that form natural pools at low tide, attracting families with children. The city has invested a lot to bring more tranquility to the regulars, the works of requalification that have been made, were also thought to solve this type of sensation. We improved the lighting, we have rounds with the Municipal Guard. So, we hope that on the next visit you can enjoy everything that this beautiful beach of our coast offers. Be always welcome Thanks for the rating and the visit. Follow our social networks: @visitsalvadordabahia #visitsalvadordabahia and salvadordabahia.com Signed .: City Hall of Salvador

One of the best beach in Salvador. Far from the centre, with few people. The are natural pools between the rocks but also places to surf. There are places to seat, drink and eat regional staffs like coconut, caipirinha, acarajé and seafood.

We had been at the hotel for our first anniversary, it was good stay, it is a nice beach and well set building but needs a renovation, it seems abandoned !

The beach has strong current and ruffle waves. There is a dangerous part with weird people. Be careful.

A typical beach of the city of Salvador, very dirty, smells bad, grease food and lots of people. I do not recommend.

Stella Maris beach is probably what you'd call blend and generic.

There's nothing special about it - Sand is okay, the sea is okay, the public is okay, nothing stands out.

However on the other hand, it does not suffer from the crowded environment, and is one the best options for a more empty beach nearer to Salvador.

I enjoyed daily walks on the beach. During the week there were very few people but on the weekend it was packed. Ocean is warm but you need to be careful entering the water as it is very rocky at places. There are tables and umbrellas to rent at the beach.
