Well the ribbon covered fence got me in. Interesting history and meaning to the story of the ribbons and prayers. Worth a visit if it is on your way. Plenty of souvenir sellers outside but not many who are bothersome.

Nice church outside and inside. A bit far from Pelourinho but around 10-18 reais with Uber. Possibile to get the famous wristbands (1-3 reais) and do three knots around the external gate. For each knot remember to make a wish

But interesting to see the plastic legs hanging from a back room. This is where people pray for miracles. There is an excellent ice cream place a few miles away in Soveteria de riberia if you take a cab.
