The monument is not extraordinary but the place is nice for a walk and it is in front of the theatre. There is an ice cream shop in the corner with typical fruits of the region.

The Monument shows, among other things, the names of the four continents Africa, Asia, Europa, America(=NOT the United States) as one(North+South America); Australia was considered a colony of England then, and did not rate as a continent.

Loved this square which had this interesting monument as it’s centrepiece. The different colour mosaics represent the colours of the Rio Negro and the Amazon and the Meeting of the Waters. You could get really good views of the opera house from here and it’s...More

This monument / statue is across the street from the Teatro Amazonas, so you can't miss it. Lovely park and surrounding area. Don't miss it, great photo ops.

This place becomes quite lively by the evening. The restaurants closely serve good food. You can just sit around somewhere listening to some live music and having a good time.

This is a rather interesting monument right in front of the Amazonas theater. Street performers are sometimes near it, and many people hang out here so it's good for people-watching.

Easy to see while visiting the Teatro Amazonas, right out the front doors. Don't make a special trip, though

Just in front of the Theater, this square is a nice place to hangout. An interesting piece of history is the paved stones which is the same design (the first prior to Copacabana) as that of Copacabana Beach in Rio, representing the meeting of the...More

Across from the opera house, this open and attractive park was so enjoyable to sit in and relax on a a hot day. Violinist added background music that was just right (light classical).
