It is a green space with a dirty stream running through. Looks down on its luck. There are some orchids and a few sculptures. We walked to the park from our hotel near the Opera House. The walk takes you through some interesting local neighborhoods. We felt perfectly safe.

Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil to wander through when you need a respite from the world. The garden is in the center of the city, but you feel world's away.

This park was opened about 10 years ago, but it lacks trees! It is spread alongside "Igarapé de Manaus", one of the many small rivers that cross Manaus. Today the park is a little desolated.

The Parque Jeferson Peres is a small park that is adjacent to the Palacio Rio Negro. I had happened upon the park while walking to the palace and decided to check it out. By Manaus standards the park was well kept. There were workers busy picking up trash and manicuring the lawn. From what I quickly learned, the Brazilians seem to take pride in dumping their trash in the waters and the streets (they would pull over to the side of the road and just throw the trash out). You could see the trash in the park's stream which was a shame.
There is a path that meanders around the stream with various art pieces, fountain, playground and other areas of interest along the way. Benches also are located along the path which provide views of the park and the surrounding areas. There is also a public bathroom near the playground. While I didn't use it, it looked like there was a nominal fee payable to an employee.
I don't know if it was due to the ongoing FIFA World Cup, but there were police walking through the park. As such I felt perfectly safe while walking through the park. Given that the grounds, minus the water, was nicely maintained I would recommend visiting the park if you are in Manaus. Other parks were ignored and were an embarrassment.
