A beautiful monastery. We stopped by to visit the churches and the wine cellar. The monastery itself is very beautiful, everything around is arranged and clean. Monks are very pleasant and sociable. Everything is surrounded by vines and grazing sheep. The souvenir shop is full of little things. It is not expensive and it is very easy to find a gift even for the pickiest. Wine can be bought in bottles, but also in 5l gallons. The basement is under the monastery and has a special charm, stone, huge wooden barrels and a testing room. When we were there, bottles were about 9e and a gallon was 15e. Incense about 3e and so on.

A short drive from the center of Trebinje, you will find this hidden gem of a place. Nestled between vineyards by the river, the monastery is charming and well kept. The church with its bright frescoes is beautiful, and everything is manicured and clean.
Below the monastery, there is a wine caller in which they are making wine for 700 years. You can taste and purchase the current vintage in the gift shop. Both 2022 red and white were delicious.
Free parking is available.
If you like wine, quite a unique experience, this is definitely a good choice for a nice afternoon.

Beautiful old church. Went into the wine area with helper at monastery for wine tasting. Very informative and interesting.
Shop on site that sold goods made at the monastery. Bought wine home.

Tvrdos monastery is a place full of history and tradition. You must try the monastery's fantastic wines. You can learn a lot from monks or monastery workers who can be your guide.

Stopped here after a short visit in Trebinje. I took a walk into the monastery and the church has amazing frescoes and decor. The winery was sadly closed but they do sell wine and religious trinkets in the gift shop. It was a nice spiritual stop!

Beautiful old monastery set in beautiful gardens, just outside Trebinje. Stopped off here coming back from Mostar.

If you have an interest in old monasteries, religious buildings and frescoes, then stop here and enjoy the profound and peaceful environment.

Stopped here as part of a wine trip from Dubrovnik. This place is lovely and not where you would expect to find some amazing wines. The grounds and buildings are beautiful and underneath is a cellar where we tried 4 of their wines.

Note that bare legs and shoulders aren't allowed, so you need to cover your legs if you are wearing shorts and your shoulders if wearing a vest top. There is a stand with 'aprons and shawls' as you enter the property from the car park, so just just grab one as you make your way in. There isn't a cost for them and you only need to cover up when you are actually going into the church, the rest of the time you are ok.

Even if you don’t try the wine, the complex is worth de detour.
The church is very ornate d and some parts of the floor are in glass to show the foundations of the original S IV temple.

Both men and women should be covered to the ankles or wear a purple skirt provided at the entrance.
