Beautiful Sunset Dinner at the Castle on the Mountain overlooking Ionian Sea and Corfu, Greece.
Having an outdoor sunset dinner with music at the Lekuresi Castle on the mountain is a must-do in Saranda, Albania. It was gorgeous scenery up there, overlooking Saranda, the Ionian Sea, and the Greek Island Corfu. The food was pretty good. The only downside is the restaurant at Lekuresi Castle only accepts cash.

Great view from a small fort turned restaurant
Not really a castle, more a small fort that’s now a restaurant. Can’t deny the spectacular views across the town of Saranda. Also of the plain and mountains behind the town and the inland lake to the south looking towards Ksamil. Lots of people go at night to watch the sunset.

    Great views, not great service
Food was decent, small portions. Views were spectacular - service was poor. The waiter was more interested in watching his TV show right in the middle of the dining area than greeting/ serving us. Didn’t make us feel very welcome, atmosphere was quiet and a bit odd. The views were worth the drive but I wouldn’t recommend going for food.

    Check out the scenery
Took the ferry from Corfu city to Saranda on day trip. Long day but well worth the effort. Was feeling fit so walked what felt like 10 miles upto and back from the castle, but there are plenty of taxis if desired. Found it strange that 75 percent of the population drive around in black or dark blue 25/30 year old benz's. Very few other visitors at the castle and only one staff member in the bar. The restaurant looked permanently closed for the season. Fantastic views of the surrounding countryside, coast and Saranda.

Go for the surrounding views not for the castle ruins. Consists of some of the outer wall but inside are mostly modern buildings …..restaurant and eating and concert area. Very little history on view…..a 15 minute visit would suffice.
