I've your staying near the beach, it's a pretty long & steady invline walk along city roads. Once you get to the street you need to ho up, it's not long to the top (maybe 20 min). 200 lek admission and there isn't much left intact. Mostly piles of stone. Decent views (I recommend going in the morning if you want decent lighting on the Saranda city side).

my hostess suggested I walk here before breakfast, as the temperature gets a bit too high to do it later, and I found it was a fabulous view point to the town. you have to walk on the main road for the first part (not so great), then a small road for 15minutes. it is pretty well signposted, and you can buy drinks on the way up. I arrived at 8.15am, but although the gates were wide open, the official times are 9h to 18h and 200 lek entrance fee. Obviously if you get there before, its free!

This place has a great unexploited potential. No tourist guide, no aditional informations, nothing at all
The most beautiful golden hour I ever expirienced and the view is amazing
Try to grab a cab, the road is pretty curvy, half asphalt half pavement

This sight is overlook by most tourists but deserve more attention. Less that 5 min from central with a car this sight offers spectacular 360 views but of course there is practically no information. Research beforehand to best appreciate. 100Lek admission.

It was hard to get taxi-they say you cant go.Well yes you can, you just need to walk last 200 meters. There is no information so prepare yourself in advance. You can clime and see yourself. I would suggest to go in the morning or early evening with something to drink. Its not a big area, half an hour is enough.

We walked from our hotel and trusting the map it lead us up there. A bit hot, but a nice stroll. Got to see more than just the tourist side of Sarandë. Took about 1 hour and 5 min, but we walked in a high pace so it might take longer. It costed 100 lec to view the sight and it was worth it. The ruins are still there and the view from the top was great. It is always interesting to see the remains of something that once was. They could have done more with the location, as there is only one sign and that is on the outside. Would have been nicer if there was more information around the place. There is no toilet and no water here, so bring what you can. It is not a huge place, but i enjoyed it. And just for the view, definitely take some time off to see it. It is nice as a break for the beach and it doesnt take that long so you can easily return to the beach later like we did.

We will be visiting Saranda via HAL. (8:00-5:00 P.M.)
I understand they utilize the LEK (is about $1=121LEK about right?) Do they however accept the EURO? (understanding change will most likely be in LEK)

EURO is accepted everywhere. Sometimes they can give you your change in EURO or most commonly they will give it in lek. They told us that Euro coins have an exchange rate of 1-1 and they use for paper money the rate for 1euro=136 lek.
