We visited on 30 April 2017. The sakura blizzard has started a day or 2 earlier. So instead of the magnificent full blooms, we were instead treated to beautiful pink carpets. So blossoms wise, we rate it a 3 star; carpet and sakura tunnel at...More

Visited here in late-April, perfect timing for the cherry blossom. Crowded but worth it. This is a beautiful park at this time of year.

When sakura is over in southern parts, Hirosaki is the place to visit. Wonderful, beautiful park. Peaceful spots and active business areas. Castle is now under some repair, but still worth visiting here. Majestic Mount Iwaki gives nice contrast to blossom. There was some parking...More

We were there on April 28, took the train and then bus from Aomori, stood all the way due to the crowds, and it was totally worth it. The whole bus let out a big "wow" when we arrived, because the scene was something to...More

We visited this park and castle during a cruise day stop in Aomori. We took the train from the station and arrived in Hirosaki after about an hour. There are two types of train, express limited and local. Either one will do although the express...More

Visited Hirosaki park on May 2, sakura cherry trees start falling and created another beautiful scene. The river and walking path were partly pink away. The wind starts blowing away the petals. Beautiful sight and still attractive.

We visited on 29Apr 8pm and it was by chance a FULL bloom with night light up. Exceptionally beautiful feeling and weather was nice as well. We slowly walk thru and had our dinner/snack combine at the road side stall that make the stall holder...More

We have again visited the Park by end April this year and found that the cherry trees were all in full bloom. You would definitely be caught to take photos right at the front gate in front of the moat. There were many visitors inside...More

Spent Monday 4/24/17 here. Slight admission charge but well worth it. Moats, Castle, Grounds, Shrine. Everything is here. Hard to find a parking place near this place. Especially during the festival week. Like stepping back in time. So much to see and such wonderful views...More

I visited the park during sakura cherry blossom time. The scenery is simply spectacular. Rows, rows, and rows of sakura trees are all over the place. The park was previously a castle, which has two moats. The outer one surrounds the castle, now the park....More

The further north you are, the later the sakura comes into and stays in bloom ... we saw full-blown, voluminous, sakura in Hirosaki in late April 2016. If the weather has been co-operative this year, you very well may!

Hey! The expect the blooming to start on April 23 on average this year. The light up starts on April 22. It's from 6:30 PM to 10 PM every day until May 7. As such, you should be able to see the light up, but the flowers... More
