We have visited Mt Sarakura in Dec 2008 during JICA training . It was our holiday i.e. on sunday. It was a chilly day. Temperature was around 2 DEG C . Winter season in Japan,Sunset time is coming early,about PM 17:30. If you want to enjoy sunset view & night view,I recommend to you will get on cable about PM4:20. It was strong wind at top of Mt.Sarakura Yama.I felt so cold! But I sow some mosquito at small bush on top Mt. top of Mt.there is 1 cafeteria,toilet,no souvenir store.... More

We took different routes up and down -both made for pleasant hikes. The night view is amazing, so definitely stay for that if you can. The cable cars stop coming down at 6pm on weekdays, so you'll have to hike down if you stay for the night view -note: the last cable car up on weekdays is at 5.20pm, so... More

I Always head to Sarakura San when visiting relatives in Japan, the cable car is fun, also is a great hike, not too difficult but can be a little slippery, you can also drive to the top and at night and the view of the city below is brilliant, also there are many hikes from this mountain to other places.... More

After catching the cable and slope car to the top you are rewarded with lovely views of the surrounding area. There is a cafe at the top and you can walk from the top down to the visitor centre then back up to the cable car station. It is a long walk from Yahata station in the heat so I... More

by cable car and slope car to the top of the hill to get a wonderful view of the KITA KYUSHU area . Near to Space World to complete your day out. Cafe available
