From an architectural point of view, the Old Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. building (built 1917 and recently refurbished) is probably one of the three most impressive buildings in Mojiko Retro Town .... along with the Library of International Friendship and the Former Moji Mitsui Club. With its Art Deco style, distinctive octagonal penthouse and bright orange tiled exterior, the building is colourful, elegant and distinctive in many ways.
Although a fee is charged for entry to the Gallery on the Ground Floor dedicated to the works of the Japanese artist Seizo Watase, admission to the upper floors is free. Of course, the elegant lines and Central European style of the building can always be viewed and admired from the outside for free!

This building was built as a branch of a large shipbuilding company. A souvenir shop is in the building. There is a cash box which was used at the office old days. Visitors are able to dial to open doors. I tried opening doors several times, but I failed. If you visit there, let's try!

This is one of the western buildings in Mojiko Retro area. It was once used as an office of sea transportation company. Inside is now beautiful a gallery, but as I went at night, I just took pictures from outside.

A landmark building in the Mojiko Retro area. Former Osaka Shosen Moji Branch. It has a red brick exterior and a tower. It conveys the prosperity of Moji to this day.
