I visited at the time of the dinosaur exhibition, but to be honest, given the number of dino skeletons in the main hall, every day is a dinosaur exhibition. A well thought out and executed natural history museum that has not only dinosaurs, stuffed flora and fauna, but interactive elements of japanese culture and history. Worth a visit if you're... Wonderful display and well managed. It's inviting settings made learning fun and engaging. You are so close to the exhibits that they seems to be alive. Really worth spending 2-3 hrs, so don't go there too late in the day. Excellent attraction in Fukuoka.

We were quite impressed at the scale of the museum, and especially the moving dinosaurs which were very realistic. The actual building and layout has been designed very well. I thought it was a shame that they couldn't have labelled more of the displays in English. A detailed explnantion is not necessary but it would have been much more interesting... More

The location is a mere 5 mins walk from JR Space World sta. And indeed what attracted most ppe will be the large Space world Theme Park that is situated opposite the Museum instead… The admittance fee is 500 yen for adults. The Museum presents the evolution of life on earth and human history and the exhibition covers a wide... More

Dinosaurs, oh my! Weather was a bit funny when we went during Golden Week, with rain about to break. It didn't seem to dampen the spirits of any of the attendees, however, with crowds equally split between a new exhibit showcasing cats of all shapes and sizes, versus the traditional natural history of the region. There were interesting science demonstrations... More

We had a day of rain so headed here, not to far of a walk from train station. They had wheel chairs so this was a plus for my Mom. lot of nice exhibits and worth the price of admission.

There is an admittance fee of 500 yen for adults and 200 yen for children. So cheap. The exhibition covers a wide range, form the process of evolution to Japanese local and historic culture, so both adults and children will be able to have a good time there. Its souvenir store is also good. You can buy stone samples, cute... More

We went there in June this year. I found this museum from the Internet and it is really interesting place to visit. My eldest is a big fan of dinosaurs , we went to Fukui dinosaur museum in 2011. This museum exhibition was different to FKDM that focuses mostly in dinosaurs but adds geology knowledge as well. Recommend for the... More
