Great place to come on the weekends to pick out fresh seafood for brunch. Try the fugu-it's pretty tasty. Also huge pieces of fish on sushi.

From Mojiko, I dropped by here to enjoy fresh raw fish. However, it was almost 14:00, and looks like closing the fish market. I disappointed with that but afterward I visited tourists info then the lady told me raw fish restaurants are located second floor...More

I went to Sunday morning around 8:00. I saw various sushi, sashimi and fried fish. All fresh and yummy. I heard after 9:00 many tourists would come and the market would be very packed. So it is better to go around opening time. Sushi battle...More

As for me, I feel sightseeing for fresh seafood market is "a must". We buy Pufferfish cost JPY 1000 a dish and eat at 2/F. My kids don't like here for crowd with people and wet floor.

If you like fresh seafood with abandon choices, you'd better visit the Karato before 10am. Seafood there is comparatively cheaper than restaurants. P.S. don't buy drink on the 1/F shops, there are vending machines on the 2/F which are cheaper.

Walkable distance, around 2km. Better rent a bicycle in Mojiko.
