Campground Fun

Of our 4-week vacation we spent the last days in Anacortes and enjoyed Washington Park Campground. It was clean, had warm showers, a "library" and curious deer for company.

Water, island views, fresh air and the verdant forest steps away combine for a restful spot to enjoy nature. We parked in one of the single-car pullouts along the park's scenic loop and spent some time relaxing on a park bench watching tne ferry go by. (It's a very short walk from the pullout to the water so it's easy... More

Washington Park in Anacortes was the first place my wife and I visited on our 10 day vacation to Washington State. This city park is located on a small peninsula on the west side of the city. We parked off the side of the 2 mile loop road that circles the park. We met a good number of folks who... More

We took a sandwich, soup, and chips...sat on a picnic table and watched the ferries go by as we ate lunch. If I had a blanket, might have grab a nap on the grass. Instead of large parking lots, they have small one car pull-outs that lead to the water. They also have trails galore, and overlooks. Great free spot...

We stayed here for one week. The park is very beautiful and the campsites are great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The one bad thing is the bathrooms, they were not cleaned the entire time and they are filthy. There is some kind of deodorant sprayed or maybe bug spray, but they are awful. It seems like the... There are so many good things about this park. It's a perfect place to visit with couples, family, by yourself or with a group. There is a fun playground for kids, a wide grassy lawn that's perfect for Frisbee or other yard games like Ladder Golf, a picnic area along with barbecues and shelters. And that's not all... this beautiful... More

Every town has some nice viewpoint, beautiful park that only the locals know. It's not marked on any tourist brochures, and maybe hard to find. Only the locals know how great the view is. Washington Park is such a local gem. I first found this park 10 yrs ago when scouting around the Puget Sound area for nice photography shooting... More

Enjoyed walking around the park on a sunny day. Nice benches to sit and look out over the water. Could use improved restrooms, at least cleaner porta-potties!

Campsites are pretty close together but beautiful area, with few mosquitoes when we went in mid June. The rangers are very attentive, I feel like they were always driving around. It was pretty crowded on the weekend with typical screaming children. The newly remodeled womens bathroom has free hot showers but the mens you still have to pay for. There... More

So peaceful on the water, great place for a picnic! And be sure to take the single-lane loop road around the park. We carefully drove it, but it would be outstanding for a gorgeous hike though the woods too
