Big hit for anyone who likes to see planes passing low overhead; not a lot otherwise going on. The planes are perhaps 300ft overhead either landing or taking off depending on wind conditions - low enough to make for a thrill as the roar by.

If you’re a fan of aviation this is a must do when you’re in Washington DC! This park is just beyond the runway as planes coming into Reagan international are landing. Planes are only about 150 to 200 feet above your head as they cross...More

Gravelly Point is a little park right next to Reagan National airport. The planes fly over your head so low you feel like you could jump and touch them. There are a few picnic tables in the park, and a bike path goes through it....More

Great for walking around. Do not come here if you dislike dogs, because they are everywhere! Mostly leashed, thankfully. The nearby snackbar is suitable for minor treats and water.

Cool spot to be able to watch the planes take off. It's actually a boat ramp but they have plenty of room to watch the planes take off. The kids there loved it and it's cool to watch them take off for a little while.

This is an awesome place to watch the air traffic coming and going to Reagan Airport. The parking is convenient and the Mount Vernon Trail is right there. The scenery is nice.

Lots of park space for games, soccer, football and running around. Best place to watch and feel the roar of the planes taking off overhead. Taking off and landing depend on wind direction. Kids/adults alike stop to watch, it's fascinating. You're still in the city,...More

This is just north of Reagan National Airport on the George Washington Parkway. There are no facilities other than a parking lot, boat ramp, and rest rooms. It has a field where soccer can be played. Mostly, you can see D.C. across the Potomac River.

There is free parking. It's just north of the runway of Reagan National Airport, so a lot off commercial airplanes are flying really low over head. It is right on the Potomac. There are port-a-lets. There is plenty of grass area for many types of...More

Yes it does get crowded for July Fourth. Note you can only access the parking lot when traveling north on GW parkway. Often the field when people usually picnic or play games is packed with cars and trucks. Technically you... More
