We came in on the subway, and we had to walk all the way around to the other side of the Pentagon across parking lots with no shade to get to the memorial. Once we got there, though, it is a beautiful, thoughtful memorial that...More

Since their is no parking near the pentagon you can get here via subway or walking from the pentagon city mall. The walk is long but this memorial is so beautiful now that the trees are big enough to produce shade. The design is so...More

In my opinion, one of the better memorials in the DC area. Encourage you to use the free cell audio tour while there (info on signs when you arrive) since it explains the details and layout of the memorial.

Our family of 4 visited the outside Pentagon Memorial immediately following our scheduled tour of the Pentagon building. The Memorial INSIDE is respectfully solemn. The average citizen usually wouldn't consider the Pentagon on their sightseeing list, but with a little preplanning it was a definite...More

This memorial moved me more that I thought. It is a thoughtful and honoring design. We were able to listen to the volunteer tour describing in detail the attack, the damage sustained, and information about the design itself. I would highly recommend a visit.

The memorial is on the side of the Pentagon where the plane hit it. All of the victims are memorialized to include age, occupation and some background. Very moving and there were guides present that gave us more information on the memorial.

The symbolism in the design elements add a significant level of meaning to the memorial. A quiet reflective place. Opened an opportunity for a deeper conversation with my 10 & 12 yr old kids who weren't yet born on 09-11-01.

I was keen on making a stop by the Pentagon 9/11 memorial during my visit to DC. I was very young when 9/11 happened and didn't understand the magnitude of the event, and so this was my opportunity to pay my respects. It was such...More

Although off the beaten path, this memorial is a powerful and moving tribute to those who died here on 9/11. It touched me more than the WWII memorial. This one is more personal. Definitely worth a visit.

It is open when the lights are on. It might even be open 24 hours. There is a Metro stop nearby but there is also public parking.

If you go after 6:00, you can probably park in the lot at the tunnel entrance.
