This is a very unique and beautiful tribute. WELL worth seeing. It takes a bit to understand the concepts (and you MUST take the time to find out) but once you do it is a very moving experience.

I really wanted to see this site and remember what happened there on that terrible day in 2001.. It’s a sad place but beautiful too, because it’s so respectful to all the victims who lost their lives here.. Everybody thinks of NYC, when mentioning sept....More

This was a nice go at your own pace memorial. Each loss soul was giving a bench, with their engraved name, a plaque if part of a family, and the direction of the bench depicting if they were on the plane or in the pentagon....More

Recommend going in the evening. Sit on one of the benches and call the phone number listed at the entrance. Listen to the 30 minute presentation of what happened on 9/11. Everyone that I have brought here has been touched by this peaceful memorial and...More

I visited once several years ago after learning that a past friend of mine died in the attack. I needed to see her bench. Once I located it I sat and reflected on her loss, my loss, our loss. Madness. This is an important place...More

Go, walk the grounds (as much as you can) and pay your respect. Too many innocent people lost that day. We should never forget.

I am not in favor of memorials like this, starting with the Oklahoma City bombings. I’ve never been there, living less than a mile away, nor will I ever go there. I’ve worked with people who were burned pulling people out of the Pentagon. This...More

The Pentagon 9/11 Memorial is hard to find (construction didn't help) but is worth it. The victims each have an artistic bench and are grouped by birth year (a few were children; the Pentagon has a day care center).

ONLY because of our great tour guide did we get the FULL DETAILS of all the planning that went into designing this memorial--from the youngest killed age 3 to the oldest @ 71. There are multiple stories about each "bench/mini pool" for each person killed...More

The easiest way is to get onto the Metro (if I remember correctly, there’s a blue line right there at that hotel) and get off at the Pentagon stop. From there, exit the station and follow the signs around the Pentagon... More

Yes, but it's not well-marked. There is a sidewalk from behind the Cemetery's service complex (southeast corner of the Cemetery) that goes along Columbia Pike and then under Washington Blvd into the entrance area for the... More
